Follow these steps on how to compute SSS maternity benefits. You can get a paper and pen for your convenience.
1. What is your estimated due date?
Example: June 2024
2. What is your semester of contingency?
Example: Based on your due date, the semester of contingency is Jan 2024 – June 2024.
3. What is the 12-month period prior to your semester of contingency?
Simply count backwards to 12 months from your semester of contingency.
Example: That is, Jan 2023 – Dec 2023.
HIGHLY IMPORTANT: Within this period, you should have made at least 3 monthly contributions. 6 months if you want to get the maximum benefit amount.

4. What are your six your highest Monthly Salary Credits (MSC) within the 12-month period preceeding the semester of contingency?
Example: The minimum MSC is P4000, maximum P30,000. You can learn more about MSC here.
Month 1: 15 000
Month 2: 18,000
Month 3: 20,000
Month 4: 20, 000
Month 5: 20, 000
Month 6: 20,000
5. Add all the six monthly salary credits :
Example: 15 000 + 18 000 + 20 000 + 20 000 + 20 000 + 20 000 = 113 000
If you only contributed for 3 or 5 months within the 12-month period, then add only those contributions.
6. Divide by 180 (that is 180 = 6 months x 30 days):
148 500/180 = 627. 78
7. Multiply the sum with 105 for normal/cesarean delivery. Multiply 105 if solo parent. Multiply by 60 if miscarriage/ectopic/ emergency termination of pregnancy/stillbirth. The result is the amount of your maternity benefit.
Example:
627. 78 * 105 = 65 917 for Normal/CS
627. 78 * 120 = 75 333 for solo parents
627. 78 * 60 = 37 667 for miscarriage/ ectopic/ emergency termination of pregnancy/stillbirth

Good day po..ask ko lang if pwede mag apply ng Matben before my delivery through CS section ..though my expected delivery is on January 15, 2021. If so, ano po ang procedure?!
